Patient Care - Laboratory

Your physicians coordinate a host of support services to ensure you the best possible care. One of the most important is the Copley family of laboratories:  chemistry, hematology, and microbiology. Together,  these can perform tests required for emergency and ongoing diagnosis and treatment. Reports of your lab tests are now communicated electronically to your doctor’s office, as well as to nursing homes, home health agencies, and other sources. This means that results are available to your doctors for review as soon as the report is issued, reducing the amount of time for you to get your results.

The Blood Bank at Copley supports the community with blood products from the American Red Cross in Burlington, Vermont and with special orders obtained from Dedham, Massachusetts. These products are needed for different reasons, including loss of blood due to trauma, cancer and its treatment, the inability of an individual’s body to produce various blood components, or possible destruction of these components by the patient’s own natural defense system. Copley has dedicated laboratory professionals assuring quality health care by testing and providing compatible blood products for safe transfusions.
