
Copley Welcomes Informatics ClinicianFor Immediate Release09/21/2009
Copley Hospital welcomes Patrice Knapp, RN of Morrisville. Knapp has been appointed Informatics Clinician and will work closely with Patient Care Services and Information Technology (IT). Knapp brings to Copley more than 30 years of nursing experience and extensive knowledge of Information Systems.
“Patrice will be instrumental in Copley’s ongoing adoption of electronic health and medical records,” states Copley Hospital President Melvyn Patashnick. “In addition to serving as a Nurse Educator regarding IT program implementation, Patrice will also work with our IT Department, ensuring computerized systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.”
Knapp most recently served as Information Systems Project Manager for Partners Healthcare System/Newton Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts. There, she successfully managed the implementation of an electronic medical record/bedside medication verification program. She was also responsible for the hospital’s implementation of voice recognition transcription software. In addition to serving as Nurse Educator, Knapp worked as a peri-anethesia nurse and charge nurse for general, orthopedic, and neurological surgical services.
Knapp graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Masters Degree as an Advanced Practice Nurse Educator.
