Phase II of Copley Hospital’s planned facility upgrades, expanding the Center for Outpatient Services, is scheduled to begin this week. Areas affected by construction include the former Billing Office, adjacent to the current Center for Outpatient Services, a portion of the Main Lobby and the Gift Shop. Hospital services and programs will continue without interruption during the construction and hospital officials note that every effort will be made to ensure a comfortable experience for patients and visitors. The Main Lobby will remain open with modified hours for Patient Registration. Visitors should continue to use the main entrance and register at the Information Desk.
Effective Wednesday, February 10, the hospital’s Gift Shop will close for the duration of construction in the Lobby. Patient Registration will be relocated into the Gift Shop. As of Friday, February 12th, Patient Registration in their temporary location will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Patients registering after 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays must register at the Emergency Department Registration area. Signage will be available in the main lobby assisting patients and visitors with directions. Hospital officials extend their appreciation to the Copley Hospital Auxiliary and its volunteers who operate the Gift Shop for their generous flexibility during this construction.
The renovations to Outpatient Services will allow for expanded services and access. Two new Sleep Study Rooms, three additional exam rooms and a Pulmonary Function Lab are being built next to the existing Outpatient Services Center. Modifications to Patient Access and Registration in the Main Lobby will enhance patient privacy. Construction in the main lobby is slated to be completed by March 8th; the renovations to expand outpatient services are expected to be completed by May.
