Vermont landscapes bring life to Copley Art Gallery and lift the spirits of patients, visitors and staff. Local artist, Paul Griswold displays his talents of oil painting at Copley Gallery. Jill Baker, Gallery Administrator, says the exhibit features 16 pieces and will be on display until March 26, 2010. Copley Gallery is located on the main floor of Copley Hospital. Copley Hospital benefits from the sales of all artwork sold.
For many years Griswold has been experimenting in a variety of art medians including water colors, oils and acrylics. His art education consists of pencil drawings, begun at a very young age, followed by group lessons provided by the late Stan Marc Wright. Griswold notes that the most beneficial lessons were those spent with local artists during organized painting sessions.
Griswold is a Morrisville native where he has lived his entire life. Since retiring in 2003, he has kept busy with a number of home projects and spending quality time painting. This is Griswold’s first art exhibition.
Copley Gallery, which was made possible by a generous gift from Howard Manosh in 1980, is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Copley welcomes visitors to browse its gallery and see the work of talented community members. If you are interested in showing or purchasing artwork please call the hospital’s Community Relations office at 888-8302.
